About Us

Granulats du Hainaut, located at the Carrières du Hainaut site, strives to add value to overburden while preserving the blue stone. By removing clay and silt, which are then either recycled by external partners or placed on the external mound, Granulats du Hainaut reaches and extracts the raches layer, a bluish-gray limestone. This resource is then processed and transformed into gravel and aggregates, intended for a wide range of applications in the construction, landscaping, and public works sectors.

The Environment

Resource Management

Our commitment to resource management is demonstrated through an integrated approach aimed at optimizing the use of raw materials and minimizing our environmental footprint. Here's how we responsibly manage our resources:

Sustainable Exploitation

We adhere to environmentally friendly exploitation practices to ensure the preservation of natural resources while extracting the limestone needed for our activities

Recycling and Revalorization

We promote the recycling and revalorization of materials, particularly clays and silts from our operations, by providing them to external partners for reuse in other industrial processes

Process Optimization

We invest in innovative technologies and production methods aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions throughout our production chain

Environmental Monitoring

We regularly monitor our environmental impact, evaluating emissions, waste, and resources used to identify areas where improvements can be made.

Awareness and Training

We raise awareness among our employees and partners about resource management issues and train them in best environmental practices to ensure a company culture focused on sustainability.

By adopting a proactive and responsible approach to resource management, we contribute to preserving our environment while ensuring the sustainability of our activities for future generations.

Life in Quarries

Extractive activities shape habitats that have become rare in Belgium, promoting the establishment and flourishing of many pioneer species with high biological value. As part of the LIFE IN QUARRIES initiative, Granulats du Hainaut is fully committed to implementing appropriate measures, continuously developing and preserving the biodiversity potential within our site
